Blog-meets... by Tris

I'm a little bit worried about this up and coming blog-meet Andre is organising in September. I've never been worried about a blog-meet before, but this one is different for two very big reasons...

The first blog-meet I went to was Billy's Jeans after I had only been blogging for a couple of month. Surprisingly enough, people who blogged turned out to be normal-ish which was a big surprise, if not a bit of a let down on the "freaks make me feel better about myself" front.

Then I went on to meet a couple more bloggers, but this time the tactic varied from a group meet to an individual meet. These were scarier, but I didn't see any bunnies stewing or crazy axes being sharpened and again, it was fun.

The biggest blog-meet I've attended was the London Blogmeet, which was attended by podium dancers, diary writers, wannabe goths (heh heh), tattoo'd people, very tall people, Scoucers and Trentonites. This one again was fun, it even had its own blog! It was a bit weird because some random non-bloggers showed up, but never mind.

Then obviously I met up with Celeste and James, and later on with Will and Silk in the form of mini-meets. Again fun, even though Celeste insisted on punching me where I had just had some painful injections for some nasty tropical diseases, bitch.

But now the time of the Andre-meet is nearing. Since my last big blog-meet the blog world has changed a fair bit. In all the prior blog-meets, all bloggers were considered equal, by me at least and there were no BIG bloggers in the blogsphere really, let alone at the meet. But now there are quite a few BIG bloggers in the blogworld, some of whom are coming to the meet and some of whom really don't deserve the fame in my eyes, but maybe that will change when I meet them.

There is also the crucial point that this is a blog-meet outside of my blog-circle. I'm not an Andre reader, although he does have a very good blog, it just isn't for me. This means that outside of Celeste and James - I won't know anyone there.

Hmmm, plenty of,
"Do you read my blog?"
"Err, no."

Right, so positive thoughts, positive! One thing I would like to do is meet everyone on our blogrolls, 17 to go then including one trip to Vegas baby, Vegas!

Oh, it's my birthday tomorrow.

happy Birfdee for tomorrow luv!

For the record, the blog meet will probably be fun and might not be as weird as you think. If anyone gives you grief though, just put your war face on. You'll scare the crap outta em ;)

The blog meet will be fun. I think southeren bird is going....

It'll be cool to meet a load of bloggers. There are loads of bloggers that Andre links to that I have never ever read.

It's just about people who have a hobby in common meeting up.

If there are freaks then it's excellent blogging material!!!!

Ha ha h aha

Dear comment box

When I click on the "Yes" under "Remember personal info" I expect you to... you know, remember personal info! Goddammit!

Oh, and T - I have noted the "goth" comment and will be planning my revenge...

Hmmm, I wonder why the remember thing doesn't work!!!

Anx - you *have* to come to the blog-meet, Cel really wants to meet you!

Not only does he call me a Scouser (which I am not), but he spells it wrong!

Blogmeets are a good laff, but sadly this one is logistically impossible.

I'm sure you'll be just fine though mr T ;-)

Watch out for the Wibblemeister though, he likes a drink almost as much as me :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tilesey!!! Hope you have a great day!!!!

I am also thinking of attending the blogmeet - hopefully stay a bit longer at this one :)

Happy Birthday to you!

I've had the opportunity to meet a few TOP bloggers. Some I didn't like, 2 I did. The ones I did had to do with being as real and down to earth as they were on their blog. The others, well, you described it perfectly "Do you read my blog?"

The silence after the no will speak volumes of their narcisism. Enjoy!

Mark you must come to the meet! I haven't met you yet! Same goes for you anxious!

For the record guys, it doesn't remember me either when I tick that box - I just figured it was cos I use Firefox as a browser...

I think when I used to blog, there was a Blogmeet, Billy's Jeans, I think. I didn't go. But when Tilesey returned with his tales of what everyone was like, I did wish I had been able to go. So, if you're doubting going, in my opinion - GO! If it looks too scary when you get there, just pretend you never knew, and grab a quick pint as a stranger and disappear! All the bloggers I've ever met (admittedly vetted via Tilesey) have been lovely! And, I'm all up for the new (preferably nice) experiences!

Enjoy guys...
