Stats and trolls... by Tris
Well, since Celeste is up in that-there London all day, I'd better hold the fort...

Christ, well I can't think of anything to properly blog about, so I guess I'd better be useful.
Personally, I hate all those people coming in from search engines corrupting my visitor logs and falsely boosting my stats. Actually, I love seeing my average visits per day go over the 100 mark, but when 50% of those are from Google, the shine kind of gets taken away.
The way around this is to simply add to lines of code to the "head" section in your index.
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOARCHIVE">
This tells those Google robots to, "Go away", "Stay away from here" and is as effective as shouting, "Boy, get my shotgun" when some pesky Scouts are wandering across your land in the dead of night. Not that I have any land, or any problem with scouts, but you get the idea.
