Knight in shining shoes... by Celeste

Yesterday I had to make the ever so slightly painful trip to Southampton to see my beloved.

The usual happened. Just like it does every blooming time. The train was delayed by 45 minutes and then there was a platform change.

Whilst rushing as fast as I could in my killer work heels and muttering things like "Wanky Virgin trains always cocking things up" and "Please let there be a seat I can't face standing the whole journey" I stepped strangely on the stairs and I began to topple forwards.

Just as I thought "Oh crap I'm going to get really hurt and be absolutely humilated in front of all these people..." I felt someone's arms around my waist. The guy behind me had seen me start to topple and had reflexes like one of the X-Men, thankfully!

On safe, level ground, with shaking hands I turned around to thank my hero who had spared me multiple grazes and going a deep shade of beetroot. He was a fairly good looking chap, pin striped power suit and very shiny shoes.

"Thank you so much!" I said gratefully "Nice catch!"

"Yup" he said cheekily "I'm pretty chuffed with my actions too!".

Hooray for gentlemen I say.

That's why I don't wear heels!

Oh but Greavsie I'm sure you'd look smashing in a pair of round toed heels....

They elongate your profile don't you know!?
