Ok ok ok so I know that you are all dying to know whether we did or not.
I'm glad to say that no we did not get married but in no way is it a publicity stunt. Ok well it was a publicity stunt but for the hotel we were staying at.
On our penultimate night in Kenya, Tilesey and I were approached by one of the hotel's activities co-ordinators. He had gotten to know us well over the two weeks because Tilesey and I did various activities organised by him (African arrow shooting, water polo etc etc), so he told us that the hotel wanted to organise a photo shoot to do some publicity shots for their fleet of Dhows. The concept that they wanted to go for was about trying something different for your wedding and/or reception. They needed a young couple to dress up in wedding gear and be photographed looking all loved up and stuff on one of the Dhows.
Naturally Tilesey and I accepted (and not just because they offered one of the excursions worth £70 each for free) because we thought it would be a laugh.
Our lovely german photographer loved us so much as models that he's sending us a CD with all the images he took of us. So I'll post some on here once we receive them.
So you see, all a bit of innocent fun.
To those who knew it wasn't real - You big ol' smartypants! To those who thought it was... How could you think I wouldn't tell you if Tilesey and I were thinking of getting married. Especially to my 3 darling friends Jamesyboy, Geyv and Silk. But more importantly... HOW COULD YOU THINK THAT I WOULD GET MARRIED IN A DRESS LIKE THAT????
I'm sorry if you feel conned and abused but we've been plotting this since the flight home from Kenya (well what else should we have done on a 9 1/2 hour flight?!). We're pulling the same trick on my Mum this weekend when we show her the holiday snaps.
Thanks for all the congratulations and stuff. It's lovely to see that people think we're great together and it has made me feel a lot stronger about Tilesey.
Oh and before you think this was all my idea - let me just tell you that he wouldn't let me call anyone of my pals to tell them it was a white lie.
