Just passing by... by Tris
I passed a couple on the way back into work, one of those odd couples where the girl is clearly hotter than the guy and nature's balance just seems... off.
But as the girl grew nearer, I noticed a familiar symbol staring back at me from her breasts, a symbol that clearly explained the complete mismatch in their apparent hotness, a symbol forever branded onto my consciousness: The mark of the Atomic Dolphin, the true sign of a physicist.
As we passed each other our eyes met, I could tell she recognised me but couldn't quite place my face. She'll probably wonder about me for days, did she really just set eyes upon the legend, was she really that close to one of her Gods, did she really breathe the same air as the legend that was Tilesey?
Sports representative for two years running, world record holder for the, "Number of occasions seen naked in the physics building" and "Biggest piece of roadwork barricade brought into Physics the next day" events, winner of the paper airplane distance competition, beater of Cambridge in football, and carrier of no less than 4 presidents up the stairs in the Hobbit, before, during and after they had been sick.
In fact, if it wasn't for me and my sheer stubbornness in an argument - that Atomic Dolphin would have been assigned to the dustbin and would have been replaced with some poxy alien. I own that mother, I saved that dolphin, that is my true legacy.
She'll probably never know what passed her by.
