Goings on in the world... by Tris
It's a funny time of year.
This month seems to be "break up" month; two of my friends have called off their respective engagements to start dating each other (scandal!) and another one of my (rather foxy) friends has filed for divorce.
However Mav, whom you may remember from my old blog, has started dating a girl, his first in two years. The exception that proves the rule as it were. We at Something for the Weekend are all very happy for him and pray that she doesn't fall into either the minger or psycho categories. All will be decided in two weeks time at my summer braai party.
I've also carried out my (apparently) annual trip to A&E (that's ER to you American folks). I, being the silly sod that I am, managed to drop a case of beer on my leg last night whilst shopping at the supermarket. The resulting explosion of glass caused a rather small yet rather deep cut on my leg which needed stitching/gluing/taping back together. I also destroyed half the bottles in the case (I don't fuck around when I break stuff) and created a small pile of paperwork for Sainsburies as well as a big mess. Go me.
Note to self: If you're going to smash beer bottles on yourself, make sure you’re not wearing flip flops because beer is sticky and smelly when dry.
Once I got home from the supermarket, I promptly unloaded the refridgables into the fridge, washed the beer off my feet, put a clean pair of boxers on (see Mum, I DO listen) and drove myself to A&E.
One short wait (an hour, pretty good by my reckoning) later and I'm all patched back together having refused the x-ray for shards of glass on, "can't be arsed to wait around any longer" grounds.
We can rebuild you, make you faster, stronger...

Perhaps you should consider moving closer to the A&E hun. Btw did you get a full case of beer in the end?
