Fear and loathing in Southampton... by Tris

I guess I'd better update this thing, huh?

Well, my arm is friggin sore from having yet another shot in preparation for our trip to Kenya. On the plus side, I'm now safe from Hep A (10 years), Tetanus (life), Dip-bloody sore-theria (5 years), yellow fever (10 years), polio (5 years), typhoid (5 years) etc, etc.

It is all very well and good being immunised from all major diseases (apparently Kenya suffers from all of them, dirty bastards should wash more), but I've got my performance review in a couple hours and I've been too busy actually performing my job to prepare. I loathe performance reviews, loathe them - in my eyes only the people who are absolutely crap at their jobs do well in them.

Looking at jobs in IT, on average, project managers get paid 20K more than the people who actually do the work, and they haven't even been trained! How daft is that? Amazingly there are 4 IT project managers on my current project - big project I hear you think? No, not really - there are only 2 of us actually working on it.

Ho Hum.
