Train adventures... by Celeste

Week 2 of the great 4 week commute.

UPDATE: My bag has arrived safely in Edinburgh and is being couriered down to Reading so I should have it back by Thursday! Hooray for lovely Scottish Lost Property men!

So far on my joyous commute to work from Southampton to Reading I've experienced a few new things. Here's a breakdown for you:-

1. Smelly people like me. Without failure everytime someone sits next to me on the Virgin Voyager (;-D), they will have smelly breath or bad body odour, or a smell coming from some other strange and unthinkable place. Luckily I have yet to come across someone with all 3. It is something I could live without.

2. Old people should not be allowed to travel during rush hour as they will walk up and down your carriage at a very, very slow pace, moaning that seats are so hard to find these days as little bits of paper on the seat head have been replaced by electronic message boards in the overhead luggage rack and smaking your elbow with their big tweed carry cases.

3. It is easier than anticipated to carry a dozen red roses onto a train and sit down without a single one getting bent or harmed in any way. Phew.

4. Middle aged men in powersuits will not apologise or even bat an eyelid if their laptop carry case strap/buckle hits you in the face while they struggle to put it in the overhead luggage rack.

5. Leaving your back pack on the train and only realising it when you exit the station is not a good idea. It's an even worse idea when the company's policy is that your poor little bag will stay on the train until the trains termination station. The idea gets even more worse when the trains termination is Edinburgh. It will then mean you can't talk to anyone in lost property as it closes at 5pm and the train carrying poor little bag won't get into Edinburgh until 6pmish where it will either be rescued and sent back to me or blown up. I'm reckoning blown up is going to be the most likely what with all the explosions in London.

So there you have it.

I miss my bag.

You forgot to add that your bag contained an incredible lunch prepared by your boyfriend this very morning!

I'm trying not to think about that. It just makes things worsest.
