From learning how to kite surf on Saturday, to sitting on the beach on Sunday, to stealing Celeste's indoor water feature on Monday and racing at Cowes yesterday, I've had a water-based few days!
Kite surfing is helluva fun, I can't wait to get the kit and start doing it more and more. Being dragged face-first across Poole Harbour may not be everyone's idea of a great time, but the only reason I swallowed half of Poole Harbour was because I was laughing so hard.
Technical term: Doh.
Let's hope that Celeste enjoys being a hot beach babe and laughing at me.
On Sunday we discovered that no matter how deep you bury Celeste's feet in sand, she can still get out. Next time I am definitely going to dig the hole first, then put her feet in. If that fails, I'll get a digger in. Get out of that, sucka.
I also discovered that if you're holding Celeste precariously above the English Channel, she will try to climb up you like a monkey in a tree - this can lead you to start losing your grip on Celeste and without quick reactions, it could end in tears. Thankfully the crisis was averted by moving onto the beach.
Racing at Cowes is always a good, yesterday was no exception. Although the wind was pretty light, we were still able to race and, of course, pose - the most important element of sailing.
Like all corporate events, there is no shortage of free branded kit going around, luckily I managed to restrain my Shiny Kit Syndrome and just walked away with a free t-shirt and several free beers. I marvel at my own control sometimes. Marvel.
Woo Hoo!
I'm going to Cowes on Friday! I'm SO excited! Fireworks! Yippeeeee!
